RESEARCH AND ETHICS

This course will frame the ethical issues inherent in psychoanalytic practice, research and writing. It will present the codes of ethics that form the foundation of expected ethical practices and prohibitions and explore their application in the context of psychoanalytic treatment and writing. Readings touch on boundaries, confidentiality, love, money and sex. Candidates will gain insight into risk factors, legal and professional standards, and the implications of violating those standards.
