FREUD II

In this course, the main ideas dominating Freud’s later writings in relation to the loss, anxiety, madness, aggression, and libidinal forces will be reviewed with special emphasis on the evolution of the dual instinct theory. The dynamic interplay of the bindings and undoings of the death instinct will be explored in an attempt to comprehend the psychoanalytic concepts of masochism, therapeutic impasse and the limitations of the psychoanalysis.
