The course will review psychoanalytic writings that span over 100 years: Freud, Riviere, Dinnerstein, Benjamin, Lyons-Ruth, and Harris among others. We will explore how women’s sense of self, agency and ambition develop in the context of and in response to patriarchal societal structure.
